Sunday Worship 11:00
Choir Practice 7 pm
Terri Riden, Music Minister
I am blessed with the assignment to the Bostwick United Methodist Church. Having served previously at the Pennington UMC, I had driven through the community often. While the beauty of the facilities impressed me, now knowing the church family, I am even more impressed with the wonderful church family worship and fellowship.
If you are not a part of the church family or have not been for a while, it is a wonderful time to join us on Sunday mornings and other opportunities of worship or service.
I am often asked, "How long have you been preaching?" I can hardly remember. I was preaching at about the age of 14. Licensed to preach at 17 and then ordained at about age 21. If you know my age......then it has been a long time. The earlier part of my ministry was served in the Baptist Church. I am in my fifteenth year as a minister in the North Georgia Conference.
I grew up in Polk County, Georgia, near Rome, in a wonderful rural church. The Antioch Church has been the family church for five or more generations. It helped bring me to faith and create the atmosphere to where I could understand the call to ministry.
I graduated from Shorter College with a History Degree and Secondary Education. I then graduated from Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY with a Master of Divinity degree. At the time of my graduation the school was rated one of the best theology schools in the world. Later I took the Methodist Courses required at Candler and first became a probationary elder and then later an elder in the UMC.
My greatest education for ministry has been living and working with the congregations I have served through the years. I am excited about continuing the journey at Bostwick UMC.
Please let me know if I can help in any way.
