Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Welcome to the our website. Bostwick United Methodist Church was established in 1905 and is the home of a warm, thriving congregation. We are located in beautiful Bostwick Ga., and in the midst of the cotton fields and pastures of Morgan County.
Finally! Our web page is back in working order. We are working feverishly to get things updated and back in order. We hope you will be patient with us.
Summer is here in Bostwick now. Cotton is coming up out of the ground. Calves are running in the pastures. And God's creation is as beautiful as ever. Take time to take time and slow down. Look around you and notice the little things that we too often miss. Today I especially noticed the new geraniums all around our church yard. What a beautiful and colorful addition.
At the end of this month, June, we will be observing a special service of renewing of wedding vows. All those in attendance who wish to can renew their wedding vows during this service. Broken homes, broken families have been an ongoing tragedy in our society these days. Too many children go to school every day without the benefit of going home to an intact family with a mother and a father. Divorces and unwed mothers have led to too many tragic lives for children.
As our traditional service says, "The covenant of marriage was established by God, who created us male and female for each other." That we have changed that at all has been a contributing factor in the decline of our society.
In the exchange of rings the liturgy says, "I give you this ring as a sign of my vow, and with all that I am, and all that I have, I honor you." As you take time to watch God's creation, remember He created us as well. Let us do all in our power to honor Him, honor His creation and honor each other.
